By reading this rate card I have learned that 55% of the readers of Vibe are male while 45% are female readers. The most common age of readers are 21+ and the median age of readers is 30. 55% of readers are in education while 20% are specifically in college. 65% of readers are in full time employment. The race with highest reading percentage of this magazine with 75% are Black/African American, the lowest percentage race is Asian with 1%. Rate cards are seen as very important as they know in detail who their target audience is to increase readership and maximise profit.
By reading this rate card I have learned that 63% of the readers of NME are male while the remaining 37% of readers are female. The median age for readers is 25 and 26% of students read NME. NME sell about 20,011 units every week as they are a weekly magazine. About 261,000 people read the magazine. I am surprised by the amount of information that the company know about their readers. I believe this is good as they know specifically who they're aiming their magazine at due to age and other factors. It is important that they know their target audience to maximise profit and increase the readership number.
What I have learnt: I By doing this task I have learnt about how important it is for music magazine owners to know details about their readers. The reason why it is so important is that they need to know who they are aiming their magazine at and how they can cater to their needs, to maximise profit and increase the readership number.
